Is the answer in the question?

I've been thinking a little (surprise).  Turns out there's a lot of time for that when you're pushing carts around a parking lot six hours a day.  There's more I can say, but I feel like it will be better said through discussion as opposed to front-loading.  So here's the question:

Is it worth it to be happy if it requires you to compromise your beliefs?

Discuss.

If being happy requires you to compromise your beliefs, than one would have to question why they believe what they do and just what that is exactly. I suppose one would also have to define what it means to them to be "happy". I think that beliefs are there because we realize that we cannot fully understand the world or ourselves. Once we realize that and accept it, we do have a sort of freedom to not feel like our destiny is in our hands or the fates rest on our ability to not fuck things up. That should, in turn, bring some sort of happiness. I guess in short, it really depends on what you believe and how you define happiness. - Thus spoke Brentithicus

I mostly agree with Brent. But i would think that your beliefs would make you happy or at least bring about some sort of peace, otherwise you probably wouldn't believe what you believe. So i think the real question is.. What would make you happier? Your beliefs or whatever it is that you are thinking about compromising your beliefs for? About 99% of the time, you can't have everything in life. So which is it?
